Dec 11 Sat Summer social outing to Kawakawa Bay - A final gathering for 2010.
from Rain date the next day (Sunday 12th ) Come and relax at Kawakawa Bay at John
10.30 am and Rosemary Cotman's home, 8 Te Papa Road. Set in 17 acres of bush and close
to a safe swimming beach with a midday tide, this is a chance to do as much or as
little as you want; there's the broadleaf coastal forest to explore, birds to watch
(perhaps even weka), a lovely view for the less energetic, and for the hardy souls a
chance to swim. Arrive any time after 10.30, bring your picnic lunch, camera, sunhats
and togs and stay as long as you like. Closed in shoes are a good idea in the bush
but the paths are reasonably well formed; it's a short walk, not a tramp! Suitable for
kids too of course. Tea/coffee will be provided. Park in Te Papa Rd on seal.
More details: Rosemary 2922 512 or via email from Jan.

Kiwi Conservation Club News
The response to events arranged for KCC and family events has been disappointing. A special school holiday
exploration of rock pools on a brilliant day with a great guide drew 3 children. Many F&B talks are suitable
for older children and some walks suit all ages. If you could help with KCC please contact Jan 524-2229
