Conservation Week activity : planting day on Mou Waho island (Lake Wanaka)

Conservation Week  12 - 19 September 2010

Improve magic Mou Waho's ecology.

Field trip

To do the planting properly on this island, we first need to do some ground clearing and preparation. We will need to pull out bracken to release already planted trees, and open new areas for planting.  We'll supply tea and coffee, and go on a fun, guided informative walk to the Arethusa Pool with Buff Weka sightings virtually inevitable. The trip is weather dependent due to boat operation.

What you will need

Lunch, sturdy and layered work clothing, strong shoes/boots, personal water bottle, gardening gloves for pulling out bracken. Tools will be provided.

Price:  $80 per person, maximum 12
