KCC trip to Leigh Marine Reserve - Explore the Underwater World

Celebrate Seaweek with F&B/KCC and EXPLORE THE UNDERWATER WORLD

Come and learn about what marine reserves do and are like.  Have fun looking at rockpools and swimming.

Meet at the Leigh Marine Reserve (Goat Island) under the big pohutukawa tree to the left of the staircase down to the beach for a 1.00pm start (in keeping with the low tide).

Bring warm clothes, sturdy shoes, flippers and/or sand shoes, togs & towel, mask and snorkel and/or swimming goggles if possible, a hat and sunscreen.  And a picnic, drinks and snacks.

There will be a small charge per person for snorkel hire and guiding.

We will explore the rocky shore on foot and with masks and snorkel for confident swimmers.  Tony and Jenny Enderby will be guiding these events.  They are well-known marine advocates, and have written often for the F&B magazine.

Families welcome.  Children to be accompanied by an adult.

Book by email with Siobhan so we know numbers.  Please tell booking officer whether you are a F&B member or not.  If spaces are limited, preference may go to members.  At the discretion of the booking officer.
