Mid North Forest & Bird and KCC members with their parents are invited to work together for a couple of hours in this well known small reserve marked by a DoC sign just before the ford in Falls Road. This visit has 3 purposes:-
To learn from a F&B member with local knowledge something about the interesting native plants is this attractive reserve, which is right on our doorstep – but not visited that often;
To help remove (by hand) a few patches of that dreadful invasive weed Tradescantia fluminensis
a.k.a. Wandering Willy etc. – which at a later date others will have to spray to ensure it does not return.
To meet up with Heidi Quinn, who is visiting us as Forest & Bird’s National Volunteer Coordinator.
