Meet at the end of Tolhopf Rd at 10.00am before making a 1.4km downhill stroll back to 703 Ahuroa Road - for the start of the bush walk proper, where a QE11 sign points out the route.
Moderate fitness is required to enjoy this walk, which will take about 3 hours. We pass massive and ancient Kahikatea trees and through other fine covenanted bush. Tramping boots or similar robust footwear is required; plenty of drinking water; snacks or lunch to suit; sunhat and emergency wet gear + any personal medication.
Other refreshments of your choice can be found back in the Puhoi settlement early afternoon.
In memoriam: The late Arthur and his wife Val were stalwarts of Mid North F&B for many years. In August 2008 Arthur died while working on his track.
Since then we have made this walk bi-annualy to recall the Dunn’s conservation work.
