Port Hills Planting Project

This working bee has been moved to Sunday 27th August.

Come and help with post-fire tree planting at Ohinetahi Reserve. Ohinetahi is a reserve above Governors Bay owned by the Summit Road Society. About half of the reserve was damaged in the recent Port Hills fires. North Canterbury Forest and Bird will contribute to the restoration of the reserve by planting 250 trees and tending to them for 2-3 years to ensure their survival. The area assigned to us is near the summit road, below the sign of the Bellbird car park.

To register your interest in joining us (we need to know numbers attending), or for any more information contact: Helen

PS: You will need to bring your own spade, gloves, snack, hot drinks. Wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing. As car parking is limited, we plan to car pool from Princess Margaret Hospital car park (leaving at 12.30)
