Ecology of Pollen Island
Members Michael Coote and Kent Xie will tell us about the
ecology of Pollen Island and the surrounding marine reserve, with particular reference
to the likely effects of the widening of State Highway 16 on the fernbird population.
A recent F&B trip out to Pollen Island saw fernbird there.
Other recent trips to neighbouring Traherne saw banded rail tracks.
Michaeland Kent have been very active in restoration
initiatives on both Pollen and Traherne Islands.
