Come for a half a day or the whole weekend. Te One is a rare forest remnant, 13 hectares of native bush (half of which is currently covenanted) situated on a river terrace in the beautiful Kawhatau Valley. Forest & Bird has been helping with restoration efforts for over 15 years. Sycamore trees growing in Te One bush have been the number one challenge but now that the adult sycamore weeds are down, it’s a matter of clearing the remaining seedling weeds and saplings and getting underway with replanting. At this work party we will focus on sycamore removal. For those staying overnight free accommodation will be provided in the old homestead.
