Taurangakauhu is a prominent hill on a property farmed by the Kay family. From the top there are spectacular views of the farming district. Those wanting the extra challenge can climb to the trig where there are views out to the Panetapu and Wharepuhunga district. Some scattered bush remains, mainly rewarewa, and recent reports indicate that there are plenty of kereru. On the climb down there will be good views of the Mangatutu Stream.
