Set within Wellington's harbour, Matiu/Somes Island has historically served a variety of purposes from holding enemy aliens' during both World Wars to acting as an animal quarantine station.

Tai Haruru, meaning ‘the sound of the waves’, is a fitting name for our lodge at Piha, which sits only a few minutes’ walk from North Piha beach on Auckland’s wild and wonderful west coast.
The Tautuku Forest Cabins are situated in the Lenz Reserve, a 550-hectare conservation land owned and managed by Forest & Bird.
