The Kaikoura branch is actively involved in a range of initiatives to help restore populations of two threatened species: Hutton’s shearwaters & riflemen.

As well as working to bolster populations of individual species, the branch is working vigorously to restore the dawn chorus in the region through intensive pest management at Waimangarara and Kowhai Bush.

The Kaikoura branch has been working with iwi and fishing groups of Te Korowai to achieve better management of marine resources off Kaikoura coast.
