Our Bay of Plenty and Coromandel branches are active throughout the region on a range of projects, from taking care of the region’s sand-dunes and estuaries to campaigns to keep vehicles off beaches.
Members in this region fly the flag for a range of species such as frogs, dotteral and the threatened thornton kanuka, which face all variety of threats, from proposed sub-divisions to four-wheel-drive roadways.
Branches in the region are also involved in Forest & Bird’s Kaimai-Mamaku campaign, which aims to restore native birdsong to the Kaimai-Mamaku forests through better control of the introduced pests which are taking a toll on the forests and the birds that live in them.
