About Us

Nelson-Tasman Forest & Bird are people of all ages and backgrounds drawn together by their love of the environment.

The Branch has:
• Monthly evening meetings involving guest speakers and time for a social catch up.
• A programme of trips and activities.
• Ongoing conservation projects.

The Branch advocates its interests through submissions and displays.

There are over 800 members.

Local Projects

Projects our Branch is involved with include:

Birdlife on the Grampians — predator control to enhance birdlife.
Raumanuka Reserve — weed control, replanting to restore health of this coastal reserve.
Paremata Reserve — pest control and replanting of this remnant coastal forest.
Twin Bridges — planting and maintenance of a riparian edge of the Roding River.
Hiwipango, Wai-iti Valley — weed control.
Bat survey — for long and short-tailed native bats.

 

Get involved

Our exciting programme of talks, activities and trips caters for all ages and abilities

Talk topics are as varied as eels, fungi, photography, kakapo, rocks and fossils, tenure review, and wild rivers.

Trips can include e.g. beach and forest walks, tree planting, bird watching, and fossil finding.

Guests are always welcome! Come join us!
