New Zealand

Event type:
Working Bee
Volunteer activity:
Working Bee
Conservation area:
Region:
Canterbury

We have had permission from the Chief Executive Kevin Hague for this to proceed with the following changes:

  1. No carpooling. Please make your own way to the lower Mahoe-nui site (park at the carpark just past Rapanui bush on the left hand side of the road.) Ring Helen if you need any further directions.
  2. Please bring your vaccination pass showing double vaccination.
  3. No morning tea afterwards

We are helping the Port Hills rangers create a corridor of native bush up a valley behind Sumner (off Evans Pass Rd). On this working-bee, we'll be trimming the long grass from around the native plants and using it to mulch them.

Volunteers are required to be double vaccinated as per Forest and Birds covid Policy. Masks are not required while planting.

The Port Hills rangers supply spades or clippers and have some gloves but bring your own gloves if you have them
