What are the Summer Adventure Challenges?
This summer, Forest & Bird's Kiwi Conservation Club (KCC) is challenging people swap screen time for green time with five fun, nature-based challenges!
It's easy to take part:
- Each challenge is easy to do wherever you are – no need to head to a national park.
- All Kiwis based in New Zealand can enter (you can be any age, and you don’t need to be a KCC member or part of Forest & Bird Youth).
- Awesome prizes for every challenge!
The Summer Adventure Challenge will run from 8 December 2025 until Sunday 1 February 2026.
How does it work?
KCC will send each challenge out via email and will also promote the challenges on social media.
New Zealanders who are based in Aotearoa can send in a photo of their entry and will go in the draw to win the prize for that challenge.
To submit their entry, participants:
- Fill in this form: Summer Adventure Challenges – Fill in form
- Tick the box for the challenge number you’re entering.
- Follow the link to the external hosting site where you can upload your image.
*The external hosting site should open in a new window so you can return to the form and hit submit or enter multiple challenges. - Return to the form and click 'submit'.
All entries will go into a prize pool for the challenge you have entered and will also be included in the pool for the grand prizes.
Challenge competition prizes and the grand prizes will be awarded on 4 February 2026.
Challenge Prizes
There is one prize for each challenge and all entries in that challenge will go into a draw for that prize.
- Challenge #1: Sustained Fun prize pack.
- Challenge #2: 2x Kea prize pack: Saving Wānanga by Kris Herbert, Cuddly kea, kea finger puppet, kea EUGY.
- Challenge #3: 2x Adventures with Emilie by Emilie & Victoria Bruce, Nature in Surprising Places, wētā EUGY.
- Challenge #4: Backyard treasure hunter pack: Bug viewer, cuddly gecko, The Observologist by Giselle Clarkson, Catlins tea towel.
- Challenge #5: Double hammock from Get Out Deals.
Grand Prizes
There are two grand prizes. All entries received will go into the draw for the 2nd grand prize, but only youth entries will go into the draw for the 1st grand prize (entrants under the age of 13).
- First Prize: Thanks to our friends at Intrepid Travel, you can win a bespoke tour package, including an overnight stay, for four* in a beautiful region close to home.
- Second Prize: Thanks to Get Out Deals, we have a green KingCamp Holiday 4 Dome Tent and a Wahu – Chill N' Strike Throwing Game.
* The first prize can only be won by an entrant aged 13 and under and is designed for a family group of four participants. If the immediate family of the winner is bigger, we will do our best to accommodate.

- The Summer Adventure Challenges run from 8 December 2025 to 1 February 2026 – so get ready to explore, create, and discover!
- The winners of each challenge – as well as the winners of the grand prizes – will be announced on 4 February 2026.
