Challenge #4 runs from 12 January 2026 – 1 February 2026.
Your mission
You don’t have to go deep into the wild to see amazing nature. There are all sorts of natural treasures in your own backyard and local park.
This week, we challenge you to find some hidden treasure. Check under rocks and logs for cool critters, hunt for beautiful rocks, leaves, or flowers. You never know what you might find!
Then get arty! Take a photo, draw a picture or do a dance to represent what you found.
How to enter
Snap a photo of your treasure or your art (or take a video) and send it to us via the entry form.
Every entry goes into the draw for:
- A Backyard Treasure Hunter Prize Pack containing a bug viewer, cuddly gecko, The Observologist, and Catlins tea towel
