The Te Hoiere Pelorus Bat Recovery project aims to support the critically endangered pekapeka (long-tailed bat) population in the Pelorus Catchment area by improving their home habitats. The project focuses on four key Reserves where bats are known to roost: Pelorus Bridge, Carluke Scenic, Ronga Recreational, and Brown River. This talk covers the "home renovation" mahi that THBR does for local bats: predator control, weed removal, native tree planting, and bat monitoring.
