Winter months are approaching and we are getting back into pest trapping at Harbourview to protect its fernbirds and banded rails. For the next three months (May - July), we are calling out for volunteers to help check and reset the traps on every second Saturday of the month. The dates are:
- 10th August
- 14th September
- 12th October
See you there next Saturday 10th August, starting 10am at Gloria Avenue carpark, Harbourview Park (at the viewing platform) Te Atatu Peninsula - finishing before midday. Contact for the day is Raewyn 021-277-8577.
Bring gumboots or sturdy shoes and gloves. If you don't find it comfortable cleaning and resetting the traps, any helping hand for notes taking and assisting supplies in the fields will be highly appreciated as well.
