Cara-Lisa Schloots, a PhD student in the Department of Botany, will talk about high alpine wetlands in Central Otago.

The End Peak wetland complex is an exceptionally intact high alpine wetland situation in the Harris Mountains of Central Otago. Water levels, vegetation and the seed bank were investigated, providing a detailed description of the site and allowing insight into the structure and variability present in this type of rarely studied ecosystem.

Indoor meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm. Please be on time as we have to hold the door open to let people in.
