Join us on Saturday 8 November at the Ōamaru Opera House for our Regional Hui focused on Marine Protection & the War on Nature.
This event promises inspiration and strategy, featuring speakers like Henry Elsom from the Ōamaru Blue Penguin Colony, Forest & Bird Chief Executive Nicola Toki, and Board President Kate Graeme. The event will spotlight the journey toward securing marine protection and explore how to activate communities even in challenging times. A key workshop will focus on the Modernising Conservation proposal, which is progressing toward legislation, and how collective action can influence decision-makers. The Hui will also highlight Forest & Bird's national Save Denniston campaign. Optional excursions to the Blue Penguin Colony offer a unique chance to connect with local conservation efforts firsthand.
Regional Conservation Manager Chelsea McGaw will be our MC for the day.😊
