Ark in the Park – Ecological Field Support

Full-time, fixed Term (for a period of 20 months only)
Salary: $65,129 per year
Join Ark in the Park as an Ecological Field Support team member and play a hands-on role in conserving native species and ecosystems. This position supports field operations and ecological monitoring across the Ark, working closely with the Field Operations Lead and volunteers.
Ark in the Park is a collaborative conservation initiative between Forest & Bird, Auckland Council, and Te Kawerau ā Maki. Forest & Bird is seeking a skilled and motivated ecological field support person to help restore native wildlife and habitats in the heart of the Waitākere Ranges.
What you’ll be doing
You will deliver field operations including predator control, track maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, ecological monitoring, and data collection. You will support the wider team to coordinate and support volunteers in field activities and ensure health and safety protocols are followed in all fieldwork.
What we’re looking for
Experience in field-based conservation or ecological work, strong practical skills and physical fitness for outdoor tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, good communication and coordination skills and commitment to conservation and environmental values. Occasional weekend work will be required.
