Forest & Bird is New Zealand's leading independent conservation organisation. For 100 years, we have been advocating and speaking out for nature on land and in our seas, as well as coordinating community-based projects throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
We are looking for a team player who would like to join us to process payments, generate receipts, reconcile income and become part of our friendly Finance team. We have a flexible work policy. This is a permanent, full-time role for 37.5 hours per week.
The new colleague we are looking for will have:
- Great communication and collaboration skills to work with colleagues across our Fundraising, Growing Support, and Finance teams.
- Experience with processing payments, generating receipts, reconciling income across multiple bank accounts and payment platforms, using MS Office, particularly Excel.

Ark in the Park – Ecological Field Support

About the Role
Join Ark in the Park as our Ecological Field Support and play a vital role in the conservation of native species and ecosystems. This hands-on role supports the delivery of field operations and ecological monitoring in the Ark, working closely with the Field Operations Lead and volunteers.
Ark in the Park is a collaborative conservation initiative between Forest & Bird, Auckland Council, and Te Kawerau ā Maki. Forest & Bird is seeking skilled and hard-working ecological field support person to work with the Field Operations Lead and project volunteers and help restore native wildlife and habitats in the heart of the Waitākere Ranges.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will deliver field operations including pest control, track maintenance, infrastructure upkeep, ecological monitoring and data collection. You will support the wider team to coordinate and support volunteers in field activities and ensure health and safety protocols are followed in all fieldwork.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in field-based conservation or ecological work, strong practical skills and physical fitness for outdoor tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, good communication and coordination skills and commitment to conservation and environmental values.

About the Role
Are you passionate about conservation and ready to lead field operations in one of New Zealand’s most inspiring ecological restoration projects? Ark in the Park is seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Operations Lead to coordinate and deliver our fieldwork programme in the Waitākere Ranges.
Ark in the Park is a collaborative conservation initiative between Forest & Bird, Auckland Council, and Te Kawerau ā Maki. Forest & Bird is seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Operations Lead to work with the project volunteers to revitalise the pest control and operational delivery to help restore native wildlife and habitats in the heart of the Waitākere Ranges.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Field Operations Lead, you’ll be responsible for planning and implementing field operations including pest control, monitoring, and maintenance activities. You’ll work closely with volunteers, contractors, and partner organisations to ensure the effective delivery of conservation outcomes. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, data management, and supporting the development of operational plans and health and safety systems.
Ensuring all project activities meet Forest & Bird’s Health & Safety standards, including the development and implementation of H&S plans and procedures is a key part of the work.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with strong field-based conservation experience, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
You’ll have a good understanding of pest control methods, ecological monitoring, and working with volunteers. A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in project coordination or field team leadership are desirable.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator for our Ark in the Park initiative https://arkinthepark.org.nz/, a vital conservation project in the Waitākere Ranges of Auckland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing volunteers undertaking fieldwork and events, hosting groups, organising awareness raising events, handling communication, and implementing volunteer engagement and retention strategies.

Forest & Bird is seeking a dynamic and experienced Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator work with the project volunteers and help restore native wildlife and habitats in the heart of the Waitākere Ranges.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be the first point of call for the project volunteers. Including coordinating a range of volunteer field activities, maintaining the project volunteer management systems and delivering proactive general volunteer communication and project social media.
You will coordinate and facilitate the planning of volunteer events including organising events for corporate or other groups visiting the Ark. The role will include some engagement with landowners in the buffer zone.
Ensuring all project activities meet Forest & Bird’s Health & Safety standards, including the development and implementation of H&S plans and procedures is a key part of the work.
What We’re Looking For
Excellent interpersonal relationship management skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of people, including volunteers of different ages and backgrounds in the community. Experience in coordinating volunteer programmes and a strong interest in practical conservation and environmental issues. Experience with event planning and training others desirable.
