Hasting-Havelock North Native Plant Nursery

The Branch operates a native shrub and tree nursery in Hastings. Volunteers meet at the Nursery most Tuesday mornings caring for plants propagated from seed sourced by the volunteers.

The purpose of the Nursery is to promote the planting of native species and plants are available for riparian plantings, home gardens, lifestyle blocks and district revegetation projects. The plants are available at a very reasonable rate. All sale proceeds go towards funding other nature based activities undertaken by the branch, most notably the conservation work our team does at Blowhard Bush. A considerable number are donated to community projects each year.

To join this group or to obtain plants contact HastingsHavelockNorth.Branch@forestandbird.org.nz

Plants species propagated include akeake, cabbage tree, coprosma varieties, flax, kowhai, kahikatea, lacebark, pittosporum varieties, ribbonwood, pate, kawakawa, hebe stricta, pseudopanax, wineberry, mahoe, dianella, renga, totara and titoki. Availability is not guaranteed. Enquiries are welcome.
