Extraordinary eels and enigmatic īnanga by Kimberley D'Souza and Laura Torre

Kimberley D'Souza and Laura Torre are freshwater enthusiasts from Whitebait Connection. The health of our streams is declining in the Auckland region, and we are seeing negative impacts on our freshwater species. Laura will speak about the extraordinary behaviour and lifecycle of our very own endemic longfin eel and Kimberley will go into the New Zealand whitebait species, especially the migratory lifecycle and spawning habits of the īnanga. They will both discuss some of the threats to our native species and what we can do to help protect freshwater habitats.
