Sarah is the Community Partnerships ranger at Christchurch City Council Residential Red Zone Parks Unit. She will speak on Regenerating the Red Zone - projects, planting and City Nature Challenge.

There is enormous potential to transform the Ōtakaro /Avon river corridor into the jewel in Christchurch's crown, creating a place for residents and visitors to explore, play, connect and learn. At 602 hectares, the Ōtakaro/ Avon River corridor regeneration area is three and a half times larger than Hagley park.

Hear about the projects that are underway this year, including nearly 30,000 natives ready to go in the ground, and how you can get involved. We would especially like you to join us for the City Nature Challenge 26-29th April when we will hold a four day roving bioblitz following the Ōtakaro/Avon River from city to sea! Join scientists, rangers, nature lovers and students to explore our city's biodiversity, celebrate nature and take part in this global competition.

Supper and a chat after.
