Walking tracks: None, but the reserve is easily walk-able.
This urban park project started in early 2024 in partnership with the Rotorua Lakes Council and the BOP
The reserve contains four walking tracks: the Tui Track (2 ½ hours), the Troglodyte Track (30-45 mins), the Rewi Track (30 mins) and the Rakaunui Track (45 mins). There is an excellent lookout towards the Kaweka ranges.
Motu Manawa (Pollen Island) is one of Auckland’s few large inner city estuarine areas. Situated in the Waterview Bay of Waitemata Harbour, it has been a wetland and shellbank habitat since the last ice age
NOTICE: The Matuku Reserve is currently closed to the public protect our kauri from the spread of kauri dieback. Please respect this ban and visit one of the many other walks around the Auckland Region.
Project Kererū is a voluntary community-based conservation project that is changing the fate of sick and injured kererū in Dunedin and surrounding areas.
Since 2003 we have managed to restore native planting to over an acre of land in the middle of a mainly urban landscape.
There are three tracks offering walks that take between 10 and 15 minutes or enjoy a 45 minute loop walk. The mid, high and low contour tracks traverse almost the entire length of the reserve, and connect with the council owned walk
The Hauraki Gulf branch collaborated with Waiheke SPCA to compile a responsible pet ownership brochure specifically for island residents.
Walking tracks: There are three tracks in this 9 hectare reserve,offering various walking times: 10mins, 30mins, and 1hr.
Mangaroa Wetland is a 300ha peatland in Mangarao Valley. We are currently trying to get this area protected as a Significant Natural Area and have all farming and development activity stopped.
